Session Description:

Responding to the CCSS increased focus on writing, the Alamance-Burlington School System and Elon University joined forces to support the growth and development of teacher leaders in the area of writing, including instruction in writing for all ABSS teachers.

  • attain information about the partnership between a school district and university and the benefits of professional collaborations in order to improve instructional practices and student learning.

  • initiate and implement future collaborative partnerships.
  • examine how a collaborative partnership has been effective in one district's implementation of the Common Core Writing Stantdards
